The News Cover: Let me tell you about an incident that occurred at a luxury hotel, ITC Maurya's beauty salon. A model had gone to their salon to get a haircut. However, she ended up with a horrible haircut. The girl was enraged and demanded a compensation of Rs 2 crore. This occurred in 2018. Let me tell you what exactly happened. Aashna Roy was a model for hair products. She has done modeling for VLCC and Pantene. She had gone to the salon at the ITC Maurya on April 12, 2018, to get a haircut. Roy wanted her regular stylist to cut her hair. Since her regular stylist was not available, the staff provided her with another hairstylist.

Roy was skeptical because the stylist had made blunders in the past. However, the salon assured her that the stylist had improved. The model had given specific instructions for the haircut. But the hairdresser allegedly chopped off her long hair. Roy was angry that the stylist had ignored her instructions and cut her hair short. She filed a complaint. The staff did not know what to do and apologised profusely. The salon then offered to color her hair for free. The model accepted. However after the treatment she had a feeling that her scalp was burnt and her hair had turned rough. The model then complained to the head of the salon about the stylists incompetence as her scalp itches, burns and her hair is rough and ruined. The salon head remain silent and did not do anything to the hairdresser.

The model became even angrier and complained to the hotel management about how the hairstylist ruined her hair. But the management was still silent. Despite the model's complaint everyone remainded quiet no one did a thing. The model who had finally lost her cool filed complaint with the NCDRC. NCDRC addresses consumer complaints regarding haircuts, Televisions, refrigerators, etc. In her complaint she demanded a written apology from the hotel, as verbal apology is useless.

She also demanded compensation as she would not get modeling assignments because of her ruined her. On 23rd September 2021, NCDRC agreed that the salon messed up with the haircut. The NCDRC said that the woman lost her expected modeling assignments and shattered her dream to be a top model. She also suffered a lot. The court said that women are very cautious and spend a lot of money on their hair.

So they asked the hotel to pay 2 crore as compensation to the model as she also had to quit her job and had a lot of stress and trauma for 2 years. Which is why the Rs 2 crore is justified. The hotel said the compensation was too much and it was not possible for them to pay. They said she was lying and trying to spoil their reputation.
