T20 World Cup to be Held in UAE & Oman

 The News Cover: In June, the ICC had given the BCCI that was supposed to host the T20 tournament in India amidst the rising covid cases, 4-weeks to decide whether or not they want to move the tournament to another location. BCCI Chief Sourav Ganguly on 28th June said that the T20 World Cup is now be held in UAE & Oman. The decision was taken to keep the players and staff safe during the tournament. 

Even though the matches have been moved to the UAE & Oman, the BCCI will continue to be the host of the tournament. The matches will be played in across 4 cricket grounds. The matches will be in UAE's Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Sharjah, and also Oman. T20 World Cup will be starting on the 17th of October and the last will be played on the 14th of November. The IPL will also be held in UAE from September 19 to October 15. 

However, immediately after the IPL, the T20 world cup will also be held. Once IPL ends on October 15, the T20 world cup will be on 17 October. This would prove to be a big headache for the BCCI. Another problem is that because of IPL and T20 World Cup, many players may not be available for the matches. England & Australia have already made it clear that it will not release the players for the IPL. We will have to see what happens next.

After the match, when commentators called him, overcome with emotion he said, "This was my first ODI but my father was not present to see this. I have dedicated this match as a gift to him." However, he was unable to talk more and walked away. His brother Hardik Pandya then hugged and consoled him. 

Their father had passed away in January 2021. When it was England's turn to bat, they lost many wickets to Prasidh Krishna and Shardul Thakur. They took 4 & 3 wickets respectively. England was all out at 251 runs, thereby securing India's victory.

BCCI president and former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly suffered a heart attack, hospitalized

How DLS Works in Cricket? Who wins if matches are rained off? News Cover

The team batting first makes 300 runs in 50 overs. If it rains and the over that contains now 25. Should the target behalf 151? NO...! The new target will be 192. In 2013 ICC appointed an American-born but Australian based data analytics professor, to make the system more accurate. Now called Duckworth Lewis turn or the DNS system. The improved DLS considers two scoring patterns by the side batting first, below 250 runs and above 250 runs. If the team has scored below 250, it means it's a low-scoring game and each run is slightly more important than if it had a higher total. 

2010 England-West Indies world t20 match showed that while DLS is fair for ODI. It was still unsuited for T20. Chasing 192, West Indies were 31/0 in 2.2 overs. After a rain interruption, the target was revised to 60 in six overs. Most experts have ever felt... The target was too little really. It should have been between 65 and 70. So we altered to system universally in such a way, that if the same thing happened now, it would show a par score of 66 runs. since our captains need to keep their focus on cricket and not on math.

 The chasing team is given a "par Score" sheet based on wickets lost. Par score for this Australia vs. Bangladesh match after 20 overs were, no wickets 41 runs, one wicket 48 runs, 2 wickets 58 runs, 3 wickets 69 runs and if they lost 4 wickets the past score would have been 84 in 20 overs. So the chasing team knows exactly how many runs are required in case of rain. Par Score means a tie, par plus 1, equals a win. Statistically chasing a target offers a slight advantage anyway. But rain-affected games give no additional advantage to chasing teams. In his interview with Vijay Tagore, Steve claims that "power play" overs and normal overs are not statistically different! While more runs are certainly scored in power players more wickets are also lost.

News Cover: End of imagination... In the end, Ravi Shastri was selected as the coach of the Indian team. Zaheer Khan is the new bowling coach. Rahul Dravid will accompany the team as a batting coach abroad. Advisory Committee member Anshuman Gaikwad had earlier informed that Rovi Shastri is more likely to continue as a coach. That's it.

Anshuman Gaikwad, a member of the three-member cricket advisory team, said there are many things to keep in mind before choosing a coach. From the outside, it seems like choosing a coach is a very easy task. But it is not. Also, it has to see that the new coach can adapt to the captain and others.

Shastri remains the head coach of Kohli till the next T20 World Cup. Ravi was the manager of the team in 2007. Then 2014-15 Team Director. After that, Shastri took over as the coach of the Indian team.

There were six applicants in the final list of coaches to choose from. Most of the Indian cricketers and team management were reported to have wanted Shastri as a coach again. Ravi Shastri has been signed as a coach till 2021. However,  Shastri could not appear for the interview.. Because he is now in the West Indies with the team. Shastri maintains contact with Kapil Dev's committee members through a video conference.
