Reliance Jio will Charge 6 Paise Per Minute For Making Calls To Other Networks. This new rule will start on 10th October, i.e. today.
News Cover: The day of free calling from Reliance Jio to other networks is over. From 10th October, the cost will be an extra 6 paise per minute. Reliance Jio announced on Wednesday that they were going to launch interconnect uses charges (IUC). Calling from Jio to another network under the supervision of the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) will incur additional charges.
Reliance Jio reassures their customers, "Customers will have to pay IUC charges by just 6 paise if they call to other networks till the charge is reduced to zero. This charge is determined by TRAI." The IUC charges will have to pay till the 1st of January the next year. In the last three years, Jio has to pay around 13,500 core to the other mobile operator as the IUC charges.
However, the press release also clarified that customers will not be charged for calls from other networks and by calling a landline number from Jio. Also, calls from Jio to Jio is free.
Also, they launched several top-up plans and free data offers for the customers. Jio launches the IUC Top-Up plan from ₹10 to ₹100. Customers will get 124 minutes of talk time for calling to other networks with a plan of ₹10. Additionally, 1GB of data will be available with this plan. The plan of ₹20 will give you talk-time of 249 minutes with 2GB data. 656 minutes will be available for ₹50 with 5GB data and 326 minutes will be available for ₹100 with 10GB data.
