Egyptian Table Tennis Player Plays With His Mouth

 

The News Cover: Egypt’s Ibrahim Hamatdou lost both his arms in a train accident when he was 10. You may think that, on growing up he was never able to participate in sports. Despite not having his hands, Ibrahim is participating in the 2020 Paralympic Games being held in Tokyo, Japan. You may wonder how can a man with no hands take part in the Olympics. You don’t believe it? Watch this video. Did you see the video? How inspiring! Ibrahim said, “I was in the club where I was officiating a table tennis match between two of my friends.

 They disagreed on a point when I counted the point in favor of one of them. When I stood by my decision, the other player told me, do not interfere as you will never be able to play because of your disability. It was that statement that fired me up to decide to play table tennis.” He thought of many ways to play because of his disability. He then learnt to hold the bat between his teeth and serve the ball with his feet. Ibrahim started playing table tennis at the international level from 2004 and has since won many medals. So inspiring! This is proof that no matter what disability a person has, they must not give up on their dreams. People must keep working towards their dreams just like Ibrahim!
