It was a strong bout and Sanayev was in the lead. Dahiya did not lose hope and put up a strong fight. At one point, Dahiya pinned Sanayev down. Sanayev tried very hard to push him off and then bite Dahiya on his upper arm. Still Dahiya did not let him go.

Dahiya won and has now qualified for the finals. He is the 2nd Indian wrestler to qualify for the finals in the Olympics after Sushil Kumar who qualified in the finals back in the 2012 London Olympics. Dahiya will now take on Zaur Uguev of Russia in the final on 5 August. Abhinav Bindra was the first Indian to win a gold medal back in the 2008 Beijing Olympics.

Dahiya could potentially bring home India's second gold medal. In the latest new updates, India's mens hockey team secured a bronze medal after beating Germany. The team was ecstatic on winning a medal after 41 years.
