Covid-19 Drug Maharashtra Remdesivir Price Must Not Cross ₹1400

 

The News Cover: Remdesivir is a very important drug to treat COVID-19. Recently there was a news that stocks of Remdesivir were very low and the price was very high. Maharashtra Health Minister Rajesh Tope has decided to cap the price of Remdesivir between Rs. 1,100 and Rs. 1,400 per vial. 

The price of a Remdesivir injection should not cross Rs. 1,400. According to Tope Remdesivir manufacturers should supply directly to government hospitals. It must not be directly given to private parties if it was given to private vendors they may hike the price. 

Some vendors hoard the drug to raise the price and then release the stock. This is why the government is managing the drug. He also appealed to doctors not to prescribe Remdesivir unless it is necessary. 

Tope has set up squads in every district to check malpractices in the sale of the injection. Officials have caught many people who are selling Remdesivir in black.
